I caught this 26″ Sierra on one of my first solo days fishing trying to catch some Yellowtails and mahimahi. I ended up catching grouper, sierra, needlefish and a bunch of small roosters.
I’d say Sierra is one of the most iconic fishes to catch in Baja, from the beach, from a boat, etc. when the season goes in everybody is looking for this special, sharp teeth fish with delicious meat species.
We made some “ensalada de sierra”, some kind of ceviche, with less lemon and a bunch of mayonnaise.
