Convict Tang

“Convict Tang” (Cirujano Convicto) This print is incredibly personal, born entirely from my own hands from ocean to paper. I hand-harvested this specimen myself using a spearfishing gun. Spearfishing has unlocked a whole new world of species for my art; because the Convict Tang is a non-commercial fish, you will rarely, if ever, find it in local markets. Sourcing these elusive, reef-dwelling species requires patience and a direct connection to the sea, making this original Gyotaku a truly unique piece of a hidden marine ecosystem
