“The Punching Octopus” This piece was over two years in the making. The concept was born after I came across a viral video on social media showing an octopus literally punching a group of fish that were annoying it. I knew I had to recreate that dynamic interaction, but finding the exact, small specimens here in Baja California Sur took time. It took me two years of searching to track down the perfect, specific sizes of a Convict Tang (Cirujano Convicto) and a Cochito (Triggerfish) to make this composition happen. A testament to patience, local marine life, and the hidden, humorous moments of the ocean.
