Yellowfin Tuna & Sardines

Description

Personally caught this tuna in October 2025, south of Isla Cerralvo in the Gulf of California, Baja. It was the first tuna I had ever landed, and that day we managed to catch three of them. A couple of dorados—mahi-mahi—joined in later as well. I kept some of the sardines we were using as bait, and this artwork is the result.

Instead of depicting a predatory scene, I wanted to create something more harmonious—and here is the final piece.
