About the original print
Even though male mahi it’s more atractive to have because of their square head, I also have this beautiful female that was captured along the Pacific Costa Rican coast. Blue colors intead of yellowish ones, to make a little bit different. Printed on rice paper using the traditional Gyotaku direct method.

About this species:
Mahi Mahi, also known as dolphin fish or dorado, are vibrant and fast-swimming pelagic fish inhabiting tropical and subtropical oceans. Recognized for their iridescent hues of gold, green, and blue, Mahi Mahi are prized for their acrobatic displays when hooked, leaping out of the water during fights. Feeding on smaller fish and squid, they’re highly sought after by anglers for their striking appearance, energetic fights, and delicious taste. Mahi Mahi’s dazzling colors and impressive speed make them a captivating subject for Gyotaku prints.
